a mid-afternoon treat

  • Sep. 4th, 2008 at 2:29 PM

I wouldn't say my stress levels are at an all-time high. But given a) the national news, b) a September calendar packed with deadlines, c) a new book coming out in six days, and d) [miscellaneous], I'd say they're pretty close.

Sometimes, you just need a pick-me-up.

And sometimes, the world delivers:

Would you think less of me if I admitted that "Hangin' Tough" was the first album I ever owned?

My only hope for them would that they would break away from the teen-boy band choragraphy. I'll admit I missed the whole boy band craze--yes, it was going on while I was in my teens, but I think when they were hot I was still listening to my mother's Hair soundtrack. Friends educated me to other forms of music when I got to high school.

I'm afraid I repeated the process with my kids--my son got his first I-Pod last year and didn't know what to down load because we always listen to musicals.
I'm the author of several novels for teens, including HACKING HARVARD, the CHASING YESTERDAY trilogy, and the SEVEN DEADLY SINS series.

My newest book, SKINNED, comes out in September 2008.

Also, I like cupcakes.
